Newly Added Wind Generator

Primus Wind Generator

During the short nights of winter keeping the batteries fully charged can be a challenge. We installed this small wind turbine to add power to the system. The open hillside location of Coram Deo Farm is ideal for unhindered winds to turn the wind generator keeping the batteries charged even in the dark of night.

We are always trying our best to economize by using materials on hand wherever possible. In this case we are using a microwave dish tower mount to support the generator boom. This is mounted on the front side of our main cabin and places the generator about 30 feet into he air. It is still in the experimental stage. We will update this in the spring once we have had a season to see how it works.
